1. What is one food you thought you’d miss when you went vegan, but don’t?
Hamburgers.
2. What is a food or dish you wouldn’t touch as a child, but enjoy now?
My tastes buds haven’t really changed. The only thing I grew to like was sushi, but obviously.. not gonna be having that for awhile.
3. What vegan dish or food do you feel like you should like, but don’t?
Soy things. I’m really not a fan.
4. What beverage do you consume the most of on any given day?
Lots and lots of water. Tea when I’m at work, and orange juice in my smoothies for breaky.
5. What dish are you famous for making or bringing to gatherings?
Me? Bring stuff? I don’t have nearly enough manners for that.
6. Do you have any self-imposed food rules (like no food touching on the plate or no nuts in sweets.)
I get weird about textures. Wiggly stuff or slimy stuff usually is a no go.
7. What’s one food or dish you tend to eat too much of when you have it in your home?
Licorice from Trader Joe’s, crackers with hummus, avocado, pretty much anything I can get my hands on when I’m bored.
8. What ingredient or food do you prefer to make yourself despite it being widely available?
I’m getting into making my own salad dressing. Keeping it simple, but experimenting.
9. What ingredient or food is worth spending the extra money to get the good stuff?
Any food without preservatives/organic, I guess. Gets stupid pricey to keep up with, though.
10. Are you much of a snacker? What are your favorite snacks?
I love nuts, licorice, crackers, pretty much anything, but I try to drink tea or coffee to suppress the urge to eat all day :p
11. What are your favorite vegan pizza toppings?
Onions, bell peppers, jalapenos, olives, pineapple (by itself, not with the other stuff)
12. What is your favorite vegetable? Fruit?
Vegetable, hmm.. carrots are pretty delicious. So are most DGLV. Fruit wise, avocado wins, but kiwis and blackberries are close.
13. What is the best salad dressing?
I’m a fan of anything citrus-y14. What is your favorite thing to put on toasted bread?
Earth Balance (non-dairy) butter with cinnamon and agave.
15. What kind of soup do you most often turn to on a chilly day or when you aren’t feeling your best?
Tomato basil. or just a straight up vegetable soup.
16. What is your favorite cupcake flavor? Frosting flavor?
either vanilla cake with chocolate frosting or vanilla cake with vanilla frosting.
17. What is your favorite kind of cookie?
When I’m not doing the vegan thing, black and whites, dear god, yes.
18. What is your most-loved weeknight meal?
I really like black bean enchiladas.
19. What is one dish or food you enjoy, but can’t get anyone else in your household to eat?
Daiya cheese.
20. Favorite non-dairy milk?
Almond.
21. Most disastrous recipe/meal failure?
I haven’t had anything too horrible happen. I follow recipes pretty well for the most part. If I were to branch off and try some crazy shit on my own I’m sure it would go over way less successfully.
22. Favorite pickled item?
pigs feet, for sure. Um pickles or those little onions.
23. If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 3 foods…what would they be (don’t worry about how you’ll cook them)?
Guacamole, fresh bread, and fruit salad

Getting old enough to cook my own shit?
25. Favorite vegan ice cream?
I haven’t tried vegan ice cream. sketches me out.

oven/stove

Garlic.

Vegetable soup is probably the easiest thing to make that will appease the most people. We’ll see after tonight.. I’m attempting these veggie burgers with patties that are made of tahini, sweet potato, beans and bread crumbs.

Breakfast because it’s the easiest. But dinner’s where the real guns come out.

Veggies, Berries, and vegan frozen burritos

produce, tahini, seitan, hummus, frozen vegan foods, peanut butter, apple sauce, buns, too much stuff.

I guess Trader Joe’s for now. I wanna try exploring Whole Foods, but I’m also thinking about switching to farmers market foods.
35. Name a recipe you’d love to veganize, but haven’t yet.
I just made these brownies that were delicious, but I’m gonna try veganizing them this week.

I don’t really read them religiously, but I use tumblr and pinterest.

haven’t tried. I’m trying to avoid all the unhealthy stuff.

extravagant? Um.. nothing

50 baked crab hand rolls from katsuya.
40. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
New Zealand or anywhere equally as pretty, so that I could spend tons of time outside and explore.
